Graduates

German and foreign, male and female students who successfully completed a course of studies in a specific subject at a German higher education institution with a final examination and gained a degree.

Since students at German higher education institutions can take their finals in the winter and in the summer semester, graduates are recorded by graduation years. One graduation year includes the graduates from the winter semester and from the subsequent summer semester. The number of 2008 graduates is the sum total of the number of graduates of the winter semester 2007/2008 and of the summer semester 2008.
